Create useful prompts for captions, content ideas, hooks, repurposing, calendars, and platform-specific variations while keeping your brand voice consistent.
Tell the AI what the content is about, who should care, which platform it is for, the goal, and how the brand should sound. Otherwise outputs tend to be generic.
- Platform and content format
- Target audience and awareness level
- Content goal and call to action
- Brand voice and words to avoid
- Length and output structure
Use this structure: Platform + Audience + Topic + Goal + Voice + Key Points + Constraints + Output Format. Add examples of your existing content when consistency matters.
- Platform: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, or another channel
- Audience and awareness level
- Goal: educate, entertain, engage, convert, or announce
- Voice and tone
- Output: caption, hooks, carousel outline, or content calendar
A specific audience, feature, tone, and desired action produce more useful content than a generic request.
- Weak: “Write an Instagram caption for my business.”
- Strong: “Write five Instagram captions for a productivity app aimed at university students. The post introduces a weekly planning feature. Keep the tone practical and friendly, avoid exaggerated claims, use a short hook and two useful details, then end with a natural invitation to try it.”
Ask for ideas grouped by purpose rather than random lists. Separate educational, opinion, behind-the-scenes, proof, and promotional content to create a balanced mix.
- Request several content pillars
- Ask for the hook and core takeaway with each idea
- Create recurring series that can become recognizable formats
- Generate multiple hook styles
- Define the exact next action for the CTA
Give the AI the original idea and ask it to preserve the core message while changing the format, pacing, and platform conventions.
- Long-form idea → short video script
- Video → carousel outline
- Article → LinkedIn post
- Tutorial → short tips series
- Customer question → FAQ content
Avoid vague requests, generic “viral” language, and unsupported claims. Give the model enough context to create useful content without asking it to invent evidence.
- No target audience
- No clear content goal
- No platform-specific format
- Overusing generic engagement phrases
- Inventing facts, testimonials, or performance results
Start with the outcome you want, add only the context that changes the answer, and state important constraints explicitly. Then refine the prompt and test the result instead of assuming the first output is final.
